About us...

For over 15 years, three families of us have been going on ski vacations. We therefore regularly needed 12 or 14 beds.

A few years ago, we discovered the village of Courbaton during a stay in Les Arcs. We immediately fell in love with this preserved place. We found a unique place there with a magnificent view, away from the noise and permanent hustle and bustle of the Arc 1600 resort and at the same time so close to the ski area (2 slopes are accessible directly by ski, 10 minutes away). walk from the center, shops and restaurants).

We can come by train easily, Bourg-Saint-Maurice station is connected to Arc 1600 by a funicular which drops us off in 6 minutes 800 m from the chalet. We have the freedom to leave and return directly by ski and if the snow does not allow it, our private driver will take care of us.

The village is surrounded by forests, our children can extend their day of skiing by sledding and building snowmen while we enjoy the last rays of sunshine on the terrace.

The Arc 1600 station has the particularity of being in the middle of the Arcs area. This gives us the advantage of choosing, depending on the weather, whether we go towards Arc 2000 to seek the sun or Peisey-Valandry on a cloudy day and enjoy the fir trees. Without forgetting access to the La Plagne station. In short, an ideal place to enjoy skiing and "detoxify" from everyday life.

In 2024, we renovated a complete floor of this 600 m² chalet, built in the 1950s, as well as the top floor duplex apartment:

  • The "Félix", located on the ground floor on the mountain side. Its surface area is 165 m², which probably makes it the largest single-storey apartment in Arc 1600! It offers the advantage of entering directly without going through a staircase (essential for suitcases, skis and shopping!).

  • The “Félicie”, on the top floor. It is a 150 m² Duplex with a cathedral living room which highlights the original framework and offers a magnificent view of more than 25 km around.

You felt at home there rather than in an impersonal rental. Thus, you will find a perfectly equipped place, carefully decorated in the mountain spirit, Wifi in all rooms, blankets in the living room, slippers at the entrance, TVs and a kitchen with all the utensils necessary for good cooking, and above all very comfortable sofas.

We called it the “Félicie” and “Félix” apartments in homage to our great-great-grandparents Félicie and Félix Françoz, a lifelong Savoyard and great lover of their “country”. Of peasant origin, Félix became a countryside doctor at the end of the war of 1870. He traveled his region, on foot, on donkey (yes, yes), then by car to tirelessly treat his compatriots.

PS: The photo of Félix Francoz below was produced by the Lumières brothers (Founders of photography) in Lyon on a glass plate called "autochrome", more than 100 years ago...
